Our kennel „PANÓNSKY HÁJ“ is devoted to the breeding of Small Münsterländers and Weimaraners and is located at the foot of the Small Carpathians in the picturesque wine-growing town Svätý Jur in the south-west of Slovakia.
Dogs accompanied me from my earliest childhood, and I formed a strong bond with them for life. As a child I grew up with German shepherds, later the first hunting dog, the Bavarian hound Kubo, joined our family. Within canine rescues, I began to discover the secrets of scent work with dogs and learned the importance of trusting your dog. I passed the first tests with my dog; we took part in the first exhibitions together; and finally, Kubo became a breeding dog. Unfortunately, he didn´t have a very long life, but even so, he left several quality descendants.
In our family, we gradually devoted ourselves to other breeds as well. In 2012, we brought our first Weimaraner named Acapulco Heat Grey Shot "Dio". Grey, imposing, passionate hunter, sharp as a razor, that´s a true Weimar! Unknown to me until then, I started training dogs, and they led me to hunting.
I spent many beautiful and exciting moments with the Weimaraners. They taught me to read their body language and understand each other even without words. It was just enough to look into their amber eyes, and everything was clear to both of us.
I am actively involved in hunting, but since our hunting area does not have the most suitable conditions for larger short-haired pointers, I decided to add a small Münsterländer, female Gina, to our pack. And I don't regret it, it was the right choice. These dogs have a sparkle in their eyes and passion in their heart, small stature, but at the same time huge enthusiasm and great will to work. They are truly versatile pointers, vigorous, highly temperamental, always on the alert, with a great hunting instinct.
My goal is to continue to strengthen natural characteristics by carefully selecting parents with a typical exterior. My priority is to breed dogs that are actively used in hunting all year round. This is the only way to preserve their unique abilities and talents, and that is why I work with my dogs in a similar way. I believe that the puppies raised by us will be invaluable helpers mainly for active hunters, but also suitable for people who can provide them with a full, happy, active life.
